We use an automated service which checks the services every few minutes. This includes nexar.com, the Banana Cake Pop IDE, access token generation, and basic queries to the design API and supply API. If there are issues detected we are alerted. In addition to the public-facing checks we have additional internal checkers too.
In order to not overwhelm our services, these status checks occur every few minutes. This means that if there is a temporary, very short-term glitch it might not be recorded as downtime.
